Hydraulic Tomography Results for Synthetic Domain

Hydraulic Tomography

This animation shows the cumulative effects that additional datasets (pumping / observation well sets) have on the estimation of the heterogeneity for this synthetic case. In the first frame, only the data collected during the pumping of well #1 was used for interpretation; for each of the subsequent frames the additional data from each seperate pumping test was used jointly to solve for the hydraulic conductivity.

The contours indicate the distribution of K, but their values actually represent the pertubation of the natural log of K, about the mean value (ln K cannot be negative). Click here to compare the actual distribution of K.
